Pierce Aerospace is organizing a meet up to discuss organizing FPV racing in the Indianapolis and central Indiana area this Thursday, Sept. 29th at 6:30PM at MacNivens Restaurant and Bar. Indianapolis is the Racing Capital of the World and Pierce Aerospace aims to work with local pilots and businesses to expand and grow the opportunity for drone pilots to race in the central Indiana area. All pilots are invited, regardless of experience level. Representatives from businesses or venues that are interested in hosting drone racing events are also encouraged to attend.
This is the first in a series of meetings that will take place around the Indianapolis area. Future events will be announced so that ample opportunity is provided to get the entire community's input.
There's a lot of interest in FPV racing with international competition, broadcast coverage by the likes of ESPN, and several professional racing series that all show off drone piloting skills and innovation. Pierce Aerospace is coordinating with drone racing design firm Glass Flight to search for remarkable and talented pilots that are interested in race competition. During the talent search pilots are encouraged to reach out via Instagram by tagging Pierce Aerospace and Glass Flight in their drone video footage.
Pierce Aerospace is developing Flight Portal, a cloud based drone logbook. Pierce Aerospace is supported by the Academy of Model Aeronautics and is redefining the way pilots log time and track resources.
Glass Flight engineers and manufactures airframes for use in the sport of drone racing. These innovative airframes are designed using the latest research in aerodynamics and advanced materials, coupled with emerging technologies that push the limits of drone racing.
